  2. I recently watched the movie “A Raisin In The Sun” with Sidney Poitier. Good movie and learned much. πŸ™‚

    • I haven’t seen that movie, yet but found a quote from the book:
β€œBeneatha: Love him? There is nothing left to love.

Mama: There is always something left to love. And if you ain’t learned that, you ain’t learned nothing. (Looking at her) Have you cried for that boy today? I don’t mean for yourself and for the family ’cause we lost the money. I mean for him: what he been through and what it done to him. Child, when do you think is the time to love somebody the most? When they done good and made things easy for everybody? Well then, you ain’t through learning – because that ain’t the time at all. It’s when he’s at his lowest and can’t believe in hisself ’cause the world done whipped him so! when you starts measuring somebody, measure him right, child, measure him right. Make sure you done taken into account what hills and valleys he come through before he got to wherever he is.”

  3. You have the best heart and mind! I always feel better after leaving your blog!!! I loved the movie, and that quote is so true!!! Thanks for that!

  4. Do you feel that the thing that makes you exceptional also makes you lonely. I don’t know about that, need to ponder. Can someone have an area of where they are exceptional and also relate to others well, are compassionate? Seems so to me. Wadda ya think?

    • I see what you mean but I guess what Lorraine Hansberry is saying is that by definition your exceptional ability/characteristic sets you apart from the majority (?). πŸ™‚

      • I see what you mean. I’m laughing because I tried to think of what would be an exceptional quality that wouldn’t be outside the majority, but you know what I can’t. Then why am I laughing? Because I thought of all the great traits in a dog. You laughing.

        BOL BOL BOL

  5. Dogs are exceptional when compared to humans but probably quite ordinary when compared to each other! LOL & BOL! πŸ˜†
