Niccolò di Bernardo dei Machiavelli was an Italian political philosopher, musician, poet, and romantic comedic playwright. He is a figure of the Italian Renaissance and a central figure of its political component, most widely known for his treatises on realist political theory (The Prince) on the one hand and republicanism (Discourses on Livy) on the other.

  2. Interesting comment about seeing people as they appear instead of how they actually are. Begs the zillion year old Q: who am I anyway? 🙂

    • I guess he is referring to the social mask we all put on so that we conceal our vulnerabilities and also not to hurt/offend others by being too direct or honest?! 🙂
      Who am I? – that’s a difficult question to answer, isn’t it?! A drop in the ocean? One cell in the skin of God? A mind with more questions than answers? 😛
