“Christmas comes but once a year”. Across the world, Christmas is celebrated in Christian countries. The birth of Christ. One might wonder however if many really understand the true meaning of Christmas. Santa, reindeer, snow, pine trees … a northern interpretation. Yet far from the nativity and wise men of biblical and Christian beliefs. So too the mad Christmas shopping sprees of gifts for family and friends. How commercial and material has this world of ours become.

Until one spends Christmas evening listening and watching Carols in the Melbourne Bowl. Choirs and music celebrating joyfully Carols by Candlelight. Not just the Jingle Bells (which means nothing in reality in our Southern Land). The beautiful Hallelujah chorus, Mary’s Boy Child, Joy to the World and many other beautiful hymns of praise in celebration, shared with families in the warm evening remind us of…
